Abstract

|
A histochemical study was done on the distribution of adenoisne triphosphatase in the organs of parasitic helminths (Asraris lumbricoides, Fasciola hepatica, Paramphistoma sp. )
The results obtained were as follows:
1. Distribution of adenosine triphosphatase in the intestinal epithelial cells of Ascaris lumbricoides showed strong reaction, the egg shell and the muscle appeared moderate, but negative in the cuticular layer.
2. Distribution of adenosine triphosphatase in the organs of Fasciola hepatica showed strongly positive in the surface cells of the oral sucker, but moderate reaction in the cuticular muscle, the egg shell and in the vitelline gland, respectively.
3. Distribution of adenosine triphosphatase in the organs of Paramphistoma sp. showed moderate reaction in the ovary, suckers, uterus and egg shell, respectively, but especially strongly positive in the intestinal epithelial cells.
